Mattress Protection Is Important

Mattress Protection Is Important

Did you know that most if not every mattress manufacture has certain terms and conditions that have to be followed or met in order for your mattress to be covered under warranty?

The most common terms and conditions:

No rips or tears - This will usually void your mattress warranty instantly. Of course a mattress can wear to the point of tearing BUT there is usually a clear cut difference between that and a slice, puncture or forced rip mark.

Advice: Never use scissors, a knife or any sharp object to cut open the protective plastic on your brand new mattress. Instead find the seam and pull it apart by hand. You will be surprised at how easy it will come off.

Also, always use help when moving or carrying your mattress - especially a pillowtop. Many consumers will grab the pillow portion of their mattress and try to man handle the mattress on their own. This is not a good idea. Instead you can ask a family member or a friend to help out and handle the other side while you rearrange or move your mattress. Doing this may just save your warranty and the last thing you need is a rip or tear in a brand new mattress set.

No stains - This can be a tricky one. There are the obvious ways that stains can be placed on a mattress such as incontinence and spillage of liquids like water, tea and soft drinks. (yes water will stain a mattress).

But the least known stain generator is human perspiration! The body can expel up to 2 pints of perspiration per day. This can lead to fairly large markings and stains on your mattress.

Did you ever get rid of an old mattress or help someone move a used mattress? Did you notice the stains on that mattress? The stains could be from anything but more than likely if the owner never had an accident on the mattress, the stains were caused by human sweat.

Perspiration is a naturally occurring process in the human body and mattress staining can be a down side to it…………… unless you have good mattress protection.

Advice: Get yourself a good mattress protector and use it from day one. A good protector will be waterproof, breathable & dust mite resistant. There are many on the market today but we here at Hard To Find Sheets carry the “Protect A Bed” brand exclusively.

We can point out ALL the details and features of the product here on our blog but we would much rather show you a video of all the benefits instead:
